4.9 子曰：“士志于道，而耻恶衣恶食者，未足与议也。”

孔子说：“士人有志于真理，却又以穿旧衣吃劣食为耻辱，这样的人，不值得与他谈论真理。”

Confucius said: “If someone aspires to pursue the truth but takes it as disgrace to wear old clothes and eat poor food, it is not worthy of discussing the truth with him.”
