19.17 曾子曰：“吾闻诸夫子：人未有自致者也1，必也亲丧乎！”

曾子说：“我听老师说过：人没有自己竭尽其情的，如有，一定是遇到父母去世的时候吧！”

【English Translation】
Zeng Zi1 said: “I heard from my teacher that people do not spontaneously express their feelings completely. If they do, it must be in the time when their parents pass away!”
