16.6 孔子曰：“侍于君子有三愆：言未及之而言谓之躁，言及之而不言谓之隐，未见颜色而言谓之瞽。”

孔子说：“侍奉君子易犯三种过失：言谈尚未轮及他而抢先说，叫做急躁；言谈轮及他而不说，叫做隐瞒；不看君子脸色而贸然开口，如同盲人

孔子说：“侍奉上位者易犯三种过失：若上位者尚未问及他或未轮到他讲话时而抢先说，叫做急躁；上位者已问及或轮到他讲话时而不说，叫做隐瞒；不看上位者脸色而贸然开口，如同盲人。”
【English Translation】
Confucius said: “In serving the superiors, one is prone to make three mistakes: It is called impatience that one speaks out hastily before being asked or before it is his turn to speak. It is called concealment that one does not speak when being asked or when it is his turn to speak. Speaking rashly without looking at the superior’s countenance is like being blind.”
