4.23 子曰：“以约失之者鲜矣。”

孔子说：“对自己加以约束而犯过失的情况是很少的。”

Confucius said: “If you can restrict yourself, speak and act prudently, and avoid wasting things, then you will have very few chances to make mistakes.”
