子罕篇 9.31

9.31　“唐棣之华，偏其反而。岂不尔思？室是远而¹。”子曰：“未之思也，夫何远之有？”

【译文】 古诗中说：“唐棣树的花，翩翩翻舞。难道我不想你吗？是我住处太遥远。”孔子说：“还是没有想念，真要想念，有什么遥远的呢？”

古诗中说：“唐棣树的花，翩翩然翻动着。难道我不想你吗？是我住处太遥远。”孔子说：“还是没有真正想念，真要想念，有什么遥远的呢？”

【English Translation】

The ancient poem said: “The flowers of the tandem tree are fluttering gracefully. Don’t I miss you? It is just because my abode is too far away.” Confucius said: “It is not a true longing, if it is, there is nothing far away.”

1. “唐棣之华”四句：这是逸诗，不见于今《诗经》。唐棣，一种植物。华，花朵。偏其反而，花朵摆动的样子。偏，通“翩”。反，翻 ↩
